Born in Broome, Western Australia, Kurrungaya Bieundurry, professionally known as Kayps, is a 19-year-old Indigenous Walmatjarri and Bunuba artist who is quickly making his mark on the Australian music scene. After spending his early years in Fitzroy Crossing, a remote town in the Kimberley region, Kayps relocated to Perth/Boorloo to pursue greater educational opportunities.
A gifted writer and producer, Kayps is known for his dynamic approach to music, seamlessly blending lyrical storytelling with melodic vocal performances. His distinctive style combines infectious hooks with high-speed, intricate rap flows—an impressive skill set that many artists take years to develop. Drawing inspiration from his life experiences, Kayps’ music is a unique mix of introspection, clever wordplay, and memorable melodies.
With the release of Buon Giorno in 2024, Kayps ushers in a bold new era in his career.
