It is the question I explore through the writing of "She Rises (again)", an epic story with subversive, poetic and grotesque undertones, to echo some profound feelings of our times. Through an overflowing non-naturalistic language, I express themes such as the loss of illusions, despair, the will of power and the love we have for our planet.

François Badoud, born in 1984, is a Swiss actor, writer, theatre director and radio producer based in Brussels. Trained at ARTS2, he performs in theatre and film, both in Belgium and Switzerland. Between 2019 and 2023, he created ‘To Go Down’, a project exploring the resilience of those excluded by Swiss social norms and morality. The text won the ARTCENA Creation Grant, the radio drama was broadcast in the official competition of Grand Prix Nova in Bucharest, and the theatre production took place at the Théâtre des Riches-Claires, in Brussels. ‘She rises (again)’ is his second work as a creator.
