Melbourne's heavy metal champions Elm Street are going back to where it all began.

On Sunday, 8 November 2026, Elm Street will return to The Espy's iconic Gershwin Room for a one-off, special anniversary event celebrating 15 years of their debut album, Barbed Wire Metal — the very album they launched in this room 15 years ago.

For one afternoon only, the band will perform Barbed Wire Metal in its entirety, bringing the complete debut album back to the stage from beginning to end in the very room where its journey began.

Adding to the occasion, Elm Street will expand to a five-piece lineup, with original bass player Brendan Farrugia returning to the fold — this time on guitar alongside the current lineup. It’s a unique opportunity to see the band revisit their early material with an expanded guitar attack and celebrate the lineup that brought Barbed Wire Metal to the world.

For the first time ever, Barbed Wire Metal will be available to purchase on vinyl, giving fans the chance to finally own the album in the format it has long deserved.

From its original release in 2011 to Elm Street's evolution into one of Australia's most respected heavy metal exports, Barbed Wire Metal remains a defining chapter in the band's story and opened the door to much bigger and better things.

To ensure as many people as possible can come celebrate this special occasion, the show will take the form of a Sunday afternoon matinee, kicking off at 2:30pm and wrapping up at 6:30pm.
