A big band powered by a duo of soulful and gritty singers and driven by players with a Cadillac full of stage experience. Built for "all on the floor, bring your happy feet and let's celebrate!

HDC's new album, WAYWARD EMOTIONS, geared for THE YEAR OF THE HORSE 2026, was engineered by Syd Green (19-Twenty/ Kasey Chambers). It’s an album expressing a suite of emotions, so the soundscapes are varied, from moody ballads, a little bit of soul, some southern sass and rockin’ chair blues, as the Cadillac pulls up to South Yeast,that’s when the party begins, C’mon in Y’all

Australian soul-blues-rock duo 8 Ball Aitken & Taya Chani have built a reputation for heartfelt songwriting, rich harmonies, and groove-driven guitar work inspired by Southern American blues, soul, country, and rock ’n’ roll.

Their musical partnership began during the 2020 lockdowns, exchanging songs and recordings between Nashville and Sydney. What started as a creative friendship quickly evolved into a powerful collaboration that has since taken them across Australia and the United States for multiple tours and festival appearances.

Together with their band, they proudly represented the Blues Association of South-East Queensland at the 2026 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, USA, reaching the semifinals and further cementing their growing international profile.

Their debut collaboration album, Nightbird, earned widespread radio success, with both the title track and the single “Miss You The Most” reaching #1 on the Australian AMRAP Regional Charts. The album also held the #2 position on the Australian Blues & Roots Radio Charts for several months. Their first duet was a soul number “Only Guiding Light” from album Ice Cream Man 2, that topped the Australian Blues & Roots Charts.

Slide-guitar virtuoso 8 Ball Aitken has toured extensively through more than twenty countries and spent nine years based in Nashville, Tennessee, performing and recording alongside some of the finest names in blues and roots music. In 2021, he placed second at the International New Orleans Cigar Box Guitar Festival. He now calls Queensland’s Sunshine Coast home.

Sydney singer-songwriter Taya Chani first gained attention with her 2019 debut album Restless Heart, which received strong airplay and glowing reviews for its soulful vocals and emotionally honest songwriting.

Now unveiling new music from their forthcoming second collaboration album, 8 Ball Aitken & Taya Chani continue to captivate audiences with their signature blend of blues, soul, country, and rock energy, both on stage and on record.
