maia maia writes music for all the confused, sensitive souls who still haven't figured it all out yet. The ones who find adulthood overwhelming. The overthinkers. The heartbroken. The dreamers. The minds that never stop spinning. The ones who always feel like they're either too much or not enough. maia maia is the alias of singer, songwriter, and producer Maja Barløse. She released her first Danish-language single in April 2025, which was immediately selected as P4's Hit Tip. That same spring, she performed at SPOT Festival. She launched her career by signing with Sony Music and later competed in the Danish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2023. After a few years of moving at full speed, the fiery redhead has taken a step back to spend more time in the studio and immersed in the songwriting process. The result is a collection of new Danish songs, written straight from the heart and gut. She will release her Danish-language debut EP, hjernevrider, on September 28.
